*In Memory of All LGBTQ Kids Who Took Their Lives Because They Weren't Accepted And Loved For Who They Were*
Love is love they say.
Who are they?
Who speaks with no disarray?
It is those who loved him, you see.
Those who loved unconditionally.
Although you saw him smile,
He always felt your hate.
In who's shoes did you walk a mile?
You judged. You didn't hesitate.
When he walked out of the door,
and you watched him walk away.
You should've loved him to the core,
you should've begged him to stay.
Emptiness filled him as he walked his road alone.
He lived with what was, although you turned your heart to stone.
Was it not enough for him to feel torment till his door was open?
Yet you chose to knock him down,
when his silence was finally broken.
His decision was made,
after his soul, in its entirety was broken
He used a razor blade,
No mom and dad, it wasn't a phase.
He wasn't just joking.
You might as well have used a shovel to dig an early grave.
Now you're crying by his casket.
Instead of him, it was yourselves that you wanted to save.
No more second chances.
You had your chance to love the one you gave birth to.
Look at the boy you took for granted,
as he can no longer look back at you!
All because your son was gay,
you ridiculed him and turned him away, for his own life to take.
Now he's dead, and won't be coming back.
He's with all of the others, who's families made the same mistake.
