America the beautiful elected a nefarious man who has spat on it’s waving flag.
Now it’s about hatred, racism,
And calling a neighbor a fag.
We’ve come so far in our community,
only to be thrown back with possibly
as if we aren’t free.
Guns are sold and given out like
Sweets in a neighborhood candy store.
We opened our hearts to immigrants,
Now he has closed the door.
A transgender man who’d risk his life to honor this country of ours,
Is no longer allowed to fight for his country,
No matter how full of scars.
59 were killed at a concert one day,
While singing to music the country band played.
husbands, wives, sisters,
Brothers, moms and dads
Went to Las Vegas and planned to go home,
Instead their souls left their bodies where they lay,
shot from the bullets that strayed.
What has become of a nation
Hate took complete control.
Now we’re divided although we stand inches apart from a different race or gender.
His lie has taken its toll.
The KKK draped in white sheets,
Killed a woman because she was black and free.
She protested peacefully,
got run over,
and she’s never coming back you see.
Not even a mention or heartfelt remorse from the one refusing to care about humanity.
I remember once feeling proud to be an American before things were changed.
He entered the Whitehouse full of lies,
Now in this country, I feel acutely estranged.
People are arguing and debating,
Turning against one another.
Friends against friends, neighbors against neighbors,
and sisters against their brothers.
Every day I pray for peace and love to bring us all together.
Unfortunately the one who was given the seat in the Oval Office,
has nothing to do but tweet all day,
earning his title as oppressor.
Freedom seems like a thing of the past as each day comes to a close.
No news is good news anymore,
take a knee, protest and soil your working man clothes.
Audacious in his relationships with clan members and racists who feel more empowerment now.
The Antichrist has reared his head as we watch our country take its final bow.
